August 24, 2022Week 7 – Almost There!
September 8, 2022This has been a great week! Sadly we had to say goodbye to our German friends.
They flew out on Monday, and have all made it safely and swiftly to Frankfurt and Berlin.
We miss them a lot, and it’s crazy to think that in a few short weeks that’ll be us.
With the Germans leaving, our branch lost its two amazing Zone leaders.
Elder Grayson and myself were asked to fill those shoes, which we accepted.
Wednesday night we’ll be welcoming more Spanish districts into our branch, and have a picnic for our zone scheduled for Friday!
Baptisms and other ordinances just opened up for missionaries at the Provo temple, and we were so excited to get to do that today!
It has been so nice to have a temple so close!
I discovered an Origami table at the MTC! I can’t wait to add to it!
Language class is going well. Bulgarian Grammar just gets harder and harder.
Our teachers started School at BYU this week, so they changed our class times around a little bit, but not too bad!
I wonder how them attending class, and then coming and teaching will affect our classes…
Two awesome devotionals, one by 2nd counsellor in the MTC presidency, and a Tuesday night General Authority Devotion on Tuesday by Sister Camilie N Johnson, president of the relief society.
It was so awesome, she had so many good things to say, I learned a lot from her!
And, we got front row seats reserved for us… We’ve sat in the front row every time and shaken their hands every time as well!
All because we made friends with the MTC executive secretary. It’s who you know, not what you know!
Today, the Bulgarian Consulate General is visiting the MTC. This is the person in charge of foreign visas into Bulgaria, and it’s pretty huge that they’re coming.
They’ll have a meeting with President Porter and then will come observe one of our classes. We’ve only had one day to prepare.
They want to impress them so that they will continue to allow missionaries into Bulgaria. I’m pretty nervous.
They’ve asked me to bring my Bulgarian flag to class, shine our shoes, and use as much Bulgarian as we know.
I’ve been praying very hard for the gift of tongues so that all goes well! Wish us luck!
