February 26, 2024Merry Christmas and happy new year! Or, as we say in Bulgaria, Честито Рождество Христово! I wanted to share a few updates with you all.
I hope the title didn’t cause too much concern, but I should probably explain the title, never mind there is to much, let me sum up. A little bit ago I had the opportunity to go the island of Cyprus for an exchange with the APs.
If you don’t know, Cyprus is a half Greek half Turkish island below Turkey, close to Israel.
It was a really amazing experience, and a really fun trip. One of the coolest things I learned there, was about the Apostle Paul’s ministry to the island. It has so much history, and was an honor to stand where he stood and testify of the reality of the living Christ.
Over all the trip went smooth, I learned a lot and shared my experiences with the missionaries there.
The work is moving rather fast there, lots are willing to listen to missionaries, and it was awesome to see a different approach to missionary work.
Other than that, recently we have been helping the Stara Zagora Elders clean out a couple church buildings in Central Bulgaria.
Unfortunately, we have no need of these buildings at the moment, they were falling into disrepair, and were getting expensive.
I really, really hope that eventually we will be able to reopen those cities. Until then the members will meet online.
On the plus side, I got to see a few of my favorite people in all of Bulgaria, President Kuncho and his family.
It’s been a lot of train rides recently, and a few hotels here and there, but things should finally settle down here in the near future.
We had a really amazing Christmas with the branch in Burgas, and we’ve been meeting with a lot of inactive YSA. Presidents goal for the first quarter of the year is to reactivate as many single adults as we can find. He hopes we strengthen the branches this way.
We went to Sofia for Christmas day and attended Zone Conference immediately following. We all had a great time celebrating together, and we enjoyed a very special and spiritual Conference.
Christmas eve we spent with Burgas Branch. They are so faith filled and fun to be around, I really enjoyed our celebration. It was very special to be with them.
Nothing much is changing this transfer, me and Elder Grover will continue to work together in Burgas. If all goes well, we should receive two missionaries in the middle of the transfer, but stay tuned. We are still working on visas for them.
I wish you all a very happy new year, I hope you will keep Christ at the center of your goals and plans for 2024. It was truly incredible to celebrate His birth recently, a gift I am eternally grateful for.
Until next time!

Too much travel. How do you ever get any missionary work done.
Keep up the great work.
